During the week of July 25 a small group of developers met at the
University of Florida for 5th DSSAT Development Sprint. Some exciting
new developments include a forage module for the simulation of perennial
grasses, an expanded "automated irrigation" option that allows for stage
specific irrigation, the evaluation of combining C++ and Fortran code to
facilitate dynamic linkages with pest, disease, and grazing models, and
various other improvements. We expect to incorporate some of these
changes in the next release of DSSAT.
If you think that you have the skills to contribute to these activities
and would like to participate in upcoming DSSAT Development Sprints,
please let me know.
Thank you for your interest and support!
