IDear Reshami,

I have updated the WeatherMan for Y2K compatability. I will e-mail the
updated executable and help file as a separate attachment. The
following excerpt from the online help file describes the update.
WeatherMan gives the warning, "less than 5 years data..." if you have
less than 5 complete years of any of the four minimum data set variables
(i.e., SRAD, TMAX, TMIN, RAIN). You can still contine with monthly mean
or WGEN parameter calculation.

-------------------------
Previous (v. 3.5 and earlier) versions of WeatherMan stored years with 2
digits, causing problems when crossing the century boundary. WeatherMan
has recently been updated to use 4-digit years. Whenever a station is
selected, it checks the archive file, and automatically converts 2-digit
years to 4 digits. Century is inferred from the start year listed in the
first section of the climate file. When importing data, WeatherMan
infers the century from the earliest year listed in the selected format
file, and adds it to any years < 100. For example, to import
DSSAT3-format (or others with 2-digit years) weather files from the 20th
and 21st centuries, you need two format files: one with an earliest year
of, e.g., 1900 (already in the DSSAT3.FMT distributed with WM) for data
files that start in the 20th century, and one with an earliest year of,
e.g., 2000, for files that start in the 21st century.
