The Department of Civil Engineering at Colorado State University seeks a
postdoctoral candidate to participate in research efforts in a joint
cooperative project with the USDA Agriculture Research Service (USDA-ARS).
This position will emphasize research on applying and enhancing system
models for agricultural management. In particular, the candidate will
evaluate the USDA-ARS Root Zone Water Quality Model (RZWQM) against field
experimental data in the Midwest and the Great Plains, and use the tested
model to simulate important management practices for different
soil-water-crop-climate conditions. The candidate is expected to work
with other team members to improve model components as a result of model
testing.

A Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Soil Science, or
similar discipline with demonstrated knowledge of agricultural systems
(e.g., soil erosion, plant growth, soil nutrient dynamics, and soil water
movement) is required. Hands-on experience with a modern agricultural model
is desired. For further information, please contact Dr. Liwang Ma at
