Dear Heping Zhang:

The answer is "yes" there are two settings that kill the crop with frost,
and they are easily changed or modified, by you if you want.

I have attached a new species file, CHGRO980.SPE, in which two variables
have been changed, FREEZ1 from -2.22 C to -9.00 C, and FREEZ2 from -6.67 C
to -9.00 C.  This will prevent the crop from killing if Tmin is above -9.00
C.  This is an ASCII file that can be edited, so you can set those two
values where you want them to be.  The FREEZ1 kills all foliage but allows
phenology to go to conclusion, whereas FREEZ2 stops everything.  Copy this
file into your DSSAT35\GENOTYPE subdirectory.

I've sent this response also to Dr. Hoogenboom who was one of the modifiers
of CROPGRO for chickpea.  He may know if the -9.00 C is reasonable.
