Washington, DC) is looking for a short-term consultant (4-6 months) to
work with Global Change Theme on the use of DSSAT models in its climate
change impact assessment work, starting as soon as possible.
The candidate is expected to have good agronomic understanding of crop
systems (e.g., soil, climate, physiology, and management practices) and
strong capacity in the use of DSSAT Crop Systems Model (preferably in
conducting scenario analyses under current and future climate
conditions). Intermediate-level programming skill in Fortran and Java,
and spatial data management skills using relational database (MySQL) and
GIS (ArcGIS and/or GRASS) are also desirable, as is experience in
Linux-based cluster computing environment (e.g., ROCKS).
