We would like to recognize Dr. Gordon Tsuji who has announced his
retirement from the University of Hawaii effective August 3. Although
many of you might not know Gordon, he has been instrumental in the
success of DSSAT. Gordon was the project manager for the IBSNAT Project
from 1982 through 1993. One of the main outcomes of IBSNAT was DSSAT and
its network of model users and model developers. Gordon was a very quiet
leader who worked diligently behind the scenes both during and past the
IBSNAT project era. Gordon and his staff were responsible for the
seamless distribution of DSSAT and coordination of all associated
publications. Thanks to Gordon, the impact of DSSAT has been tremendous
and its use continues to expand and increase through activities such as
AgMIP, Global Futures, and many others. On behalf of the DSSAT
development team we would like to thank Gordon for his many
contributions to DSSAT!
