Fellow DSSAT ListServe Readers:

Announcing 34th Biological Systems Simulation Conference in Gainesville,
Florida from March 8-10, 2004. Deadline for registration and submission of
abstracts is January 9, 2004 (see website below for information). The
conference will serve as a forum for exchanging scientific knowledge on
different facets of biological systems modeling, from experimental results
addressing fundamental questions, to the development and use of dynamic
simulation models, to the delivery of integrated systems technology. Oral
presentation and poster sessions will be include modeling and simulation
of: (1) plant-level biological processes, (2) soil water, nutrient and
energy balance in the field, (3) terrestrial carbon sequestration, (4)
effects of climatic variability and climate change on crop performance, and
(5) management and decision support systems. The conference is being
organized by K. J. Boote and J. W. Jones of the University of Florida and
T. Wilson of Texas A&M University. Additional details about the program and
registration can be found at www.conference.ifas.ufl.edu/bssg
<http://www.conference.ifas.ufl.edu/bssg>.

I encourage you to participate in this crop simulation workshop, and to
complete early registration and submit abstracts by the January 9, 2004
deadline.

Thanks,
Ken Boote
