The cancellation of the A-76 process for the National Geospatial Technical
Operations Center (NGTOC) and the continued operations in both Rolla and
Denver locations was reported as one of the top stories of 2007 as
detailed in the Jan. 19 & 20 edition of the Rolla Daily News.
National Map Catalog: The following layers were added to the catalog,
which makes the data visible in the National Map Viewer at
http://nmviewogc.cr.usgs.gov/viewer.htm:
· Nine layers of 1,000-meter grid data from Delta State University
for the State of Alaska for UTM Zones 1 through 9 into an existing web map
service hosted locally using MapServer to support the U.S. National Grid
(USNG). The Delta State University USNG data now covers the entire United
States except for the farthest west portion of the Aleutian Islands in
Alaska.
· Twelve layers of LIDAR elevation data with 1/9 arc-second
(approximately three-meter resolution) elevation data from an existing web
map service in the Seamless Data Distribution System (SDDS) at EROS Data
Center covering the following areas: (1) Alabama - Mississippi Coast, (2)
Boone County, IL, (3) Brownsville Central, TX, (4) Brownsville Outlying,
TX, (5) Burlington - Camden Counties, NJ, (6) Central - South Louisiana,
(7) Central - East Maryland, (8) Essex County, VT, (9) Poway, CA, (10)
Sallisaw, OK, (11) Southwest Florida, and (12) Winnebago County, IL.
· One layer in the Hydrography theme under Water Resources/Quality
showing naturally occurring 'Arsenic in Groundwater' from an existing web
map service in SDDS at EROS Data Center
National Agriculture Imagery Program (NAIP)
· 35 states will have complete NAIP imagery through The National Map
Seamless Server by February 29, 2008.
National Atlas: National, state and county boundary data were extracted
from Census TIGER data and generalized to 1:1,000,000-scale for
integration in the National Atlas. These data cover the conterminous
United States (CONUS), Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands
