1. CURO Symposium
The Center for Undergraduate Research Opportunities provides a statewide forum for all
undergraduates to present original research and creative work sponsored by faculty members. The
symposium is all day on Monday, April 10 beginning at 9:00 a.m. with registration of oral and
poster presenters. Concurrent oral presentations and performing arts will begin at 10:10 a.m. and
will be held in Rooms 137-141 at the Tate Student Center. The keynote address with Jace Weaver
is at 4 p.m., followed by the poster presentations-- both in Georgia Hall of the Tate Center.
Gallery talks (student art exhibit) and the awards ceremony will be on the fourth floor rotunda of
the Student Learning Center.

2. Poetry Reading, Tuesday, April 11
Australian poet Robert Adamson will read from his work. In a writing career spanning thirty-seven
years, he has written seventeen books of poetry and three books of prose. In 1994 he was
awarded the Fellowship of the Australian Writers' Christopher Brennan Prize for a lifetime
acheievement in literature. 4:30 PM. 261 Park Hall. Sponsored by the Creative Writing Program.

3. ICE-Vision: Short Film Extravaganza

All are welcome this Thursday for another ICE-Vision night, a series of informal video screenings
in the ICE Room. This week's features are:
Maya Deren: "Meshes in the Afternoon" (18 min.)
Brothers Quay: "De Artificiali Perspectiva (Anamorphosis)" (15 min.)
Charles and Ray Eames "Toccata for Toy Trains" (15 min.)
"E.L.I.: Nomad" (replay for those who were unable to attend the premiere last week)

4. Bread and Puppet Theatre presents The National Circus of the Correct Moment
Friday, April 14
This large-scale pageant includes a mock wedding ceremony, the Correct Kids Flag Ensemble, tips
on cheap shopping and the What-Does-a-Demonstration-Consist-of-Spectacle, and the Rotten
Idea Theatre Company. Free and open to the public. 3:30 PM. Herty Field. Sponsored by the
Department of Theatre and Film Studies.
