Subject: Invitation for volunteers/nominations for hosting
BSSG-2007

Colleagues,

The 36th Biological Systems Simulation Conference will be held during
April 11-13, 2006 at the Agricultural Systems Research Unit (formerly,
Great Plains Systems Research unit), USDA-ARS in Fort Collins, Colorado.
We are expecting about 35 oral and 3 poster presentations in three
sessions: (1) a special session on " Recent advances in modeling water
stress (water deficit) effects on plant growth processes", (2) a
mini-special session on "Integration of models with field research for
water conservation and crop production under water deficit conditions",
and (3) a general session.

For further information on the meeting, visit the web site at
http://www.gpsr.ars.usda.gov/bssg/.

Before closing the 2006 meetings, volunteers and nominations will be
requested for the next year's venue and if possible, the host
institution and site will be selected.

At this time, we invite people in the systems simulation community to
volunteer or nominate venues for the 2007 meeting. The 2005 meeting was
held in Phoenix (US Water Conservation Lab) and the 2004 meeting, in
Gainesville (Univ. Florida). The meetings typically attract 30 to 50
participants. Keep in mind that the meetings are expected to be
self-financing from registration fees. Usual dates are March-April.

If you are interested in hosting the 2007 meetings, please contact Laj
Ahuja ([log in to unmask]) prior to April 12.

Best regards,

(Organizing committee, 2006)
