Dear all,

The Plant Production Section of the Institute of Plant production and
Agroecology in the Tropics and Subtropics at the Hohenheim University,
Stuttgart, Germany seeks for an excellent and highly motivated student. In
an international team, we offer a PhD position on Monitoring and Modelling
Landscape C/N Flows as Affected by Current Land Use in Mountainous Regions
of Thailand and Vietnam.

The research is part of the DFG funded SFB 564 - Uplands Program and focuses
on:

1. assessing the dynamics of landscape upland-lowland C/N flows under
current land use;
2. assessing how past land use intensification has changed the spatial
distribution of soil fertility and potential crop productivity;
3. testing the impact of alternative crop management options on
sustainability of crop productivity, and watershed C/N budgets and losses
using the recently developed Land Use Change Impact Assessment (LUCIA) model
of SFB 564 subproject C4.
