Hello DSSAT subscribers :

The DSSAT Listserver has been active for about 6 months. If you are one of
the initial subscribers you willl receive a message to CONFIRM your current
subscription. I hope that you will decide to stay with us. Although
traffic has been slow, I feel that we have exchanged significant
information. There are a lot of DSSAT, CROPGRO, CERES etc. users out there
and we would like to stay in touch with you.

We are continuing with the development of DSSAT and related crop models. We
are expecting to release a maintenance update version of DSSAT v3.0 later
this year. It might include some new application programs (linkage to GIS
through ARCVIEW and others) and new crop models. Following our workshop
this year at IFDC we are planning to organize another crop modeling training
workshop in 1996 at the University of Georgia. Through the ICASA effort
there is a collaboration to bring the "IBSAT" models and Dutch crop models
closer together. We have development versions of various models for sugar
cane, tomato, pasture, pea, and other crops,

If you have any questions related to DSSAT, please feel free to post them to
the list.

Thank you for your interest.
