UGA Costa Rica Programs***Please forward this message to any one who may
have interest in these programs.

UGA Costa Rica is a new office within the Office of International
Education on campus offering a wide variety of programs and
opportunities for students, faculty, and other program participants.
UGA owns approximately 153 acres of property in the tropical, cloud
forest in the central, mountainous region of Costa Rica (Monteverde).
On this land, the UGA Costa Rica campus has been developed.  Visit
www.uga.edu/costarica to see and learn more.

Students can participate in a number of Study Abroad Programs including:

    * SPRING Semester - Franklin Spring Semester (Multiple-Jim Porter,
      Jim & Sandy Whitney, Martin Ocon, Gary Gaston of Ole Miss);
    * MAYMESTER- Art & Culture (Joe Norman), Ecology (Milton & Diana
      Lieberman), Environmental Writing (Deb Miller);
    * SUMMER - Agro-ecology (Wayne Parrott), Entomology (Marianne
      Robinette, Darold Batzer), Teaching ESOL (Pam Sheppard), Spanish &
      Culture (Lesley Feracho), Landscape Architecture (Brian Lahaie &
      Alfie Vick), Law Ecology (Laurie Fowler & Emily Franzen);
    * FALL - Ecology Fall Semester (Milton & Diana Lieberman),
      Interdisciplinary Fall Semester (Multiple-David Porter, Carl Jordan)

Faculty can join a UGA Costa Rica study abroad program as an instructor
for a semester, partial semester, Maymester, or summer term.  Faculty
also have the opportunity to do research in Costa Rica.  Contact Quint
Newcomer ([log in to unmask]) if you are interested in teaching or
conducting research at the UGA Costa Rica campus.

Other Program Participants can go on study abroad programs, assist with
research projects, volunteer on the Costa Rica campus, work as an
intern, or participate in other unique programs.

In-service teachers in addition to undergraduate and graduate students
are invited to participate in the ESOL endorsement course offered during
the ESOL Study Abroad Program next summer!

General visitors are welcome to visit the campus for leisure as well!
