    both MODIS and AVHRR have daily surface temperature.  Please look at
http://edcimswww.cr.usgs.gov/pub/imswelcome/ and
http://modis-land.gsfc.nasa.gov/mod09/ and http://modis.gsfc.nasa.gov/.
These sites should help.  There is also, 1degree X 1 degree DAO (data
assimilation officc) daily global radiation.  This is also free data
