I have a researcher who is attempting to date a letter by determining the
date at which an atlas translation prospectus was sent out. I know this is
a long shot but I didn't even know where to start researching this. Below
is the text of the letter that she is trying to date.

Mr Law takes the liberty of requesting Mrs Madison to patronize & to obtain
Subscribers to the translation of Le Sages Maps--
The accompanying Prospectus merits attention--It would be a pity should so
useful a work fail for want of encouragement--Mr Law kn<o>ws the translator
& has given some aid, merely from a desire to promote an understanding which
will facilitate the attainment of Geography & History in seminaries. To Mrs
Madison it is a sufficient recommendation to evince that her country will
benefit--

Note that Law (a DC entrepreneur who was originally English) is asking
Dolley Madison to subscribe to a translation of Le Sage's Maps, and that he
sent her an enclosure of a Prospectus. Unfortunately the
Prospectus/enclosure is missing.
The researcher also believes that Le Sage was Emmanuel Las Cases' pseudonym
here.
I know that this is a long shot but any advice would be greatly appreciated!
