Further to the two comments already posted: a time trend does exist in the
all-India groundnut yield record, as well as for many of the individual
subdivisions and districts. The trend is not always linear or exponential,
of course, and this does pose problems for modelling. I have a paper
sumitted to JAM which has some more details; I can send you a copy if you
are interested.
