Subject: Edge sealing machines for encapsulation

Hi Folks
Please excuse cross-posting between Maps-L and Carta.
We are looking at investing in a sealing machine for encapsulation. This
would be used for encapsulation of our rare maps and also heavily used
items. So far we have been using double-face tape to seal the envelopes we
make from roll Mylar (.003 gauge).
Two machines that seem to be in our price range ( approx. $2000 US) are the
Monarch 6000 and the Crossweld 8000. These are available through University
Products and listed in their 'Archival Quality Materials' catalog (page 25).
I'd appreciate hearing from anyone willing to share experience with either
of these machines, or suggestions of alternates.
Many thanks
