>The Group of Internationally Elite Researchers of the Institute of Crop
>Production and Grassland Research at the University of Hohenheim invites
>applications for the position of two Post-Doctoral Fellowships, one with a
>DSSAT/Crop Modeling background, one with an agronomic field experiment/
>remote sensing background. The position will be based at the University of
>Hohenheim, near Stuttgart, Germany. The position is for a fixed-term
>contract of 12- months, after which employment is subject to performance
>and availability of funds. Salaries are paid in Euro and depend on

>The Post-Doctoral Fellows will engage in the following activities: develop
>precision farming strategies to improve the management, productivity,

>develop GIS databases used in calibration and validation of DSSAT crop

>must be qualified to secure a Visa for training in the United States. A
>strong publication record is preferred.
>Candidates must have a Ph.D in a field that relates to agronomy, soil
>science, agricultural engineering, environmental management or related
>disciplines, working knowledge of GIS, remote sensing, crop modelling
>(DSSAT) and precision agriculture and the ability to communicate research
>results effectively to a wide range of audiences, proficiency in the
>English language, as well as the ability to work in multi-cultural
>environments and in multi-disciplinary teams.
