Dear List:
Past discussions on this list have demonstrated interest in implementing the DSSAT-CSM with open source compilers or on open source operating systems. We have since completed a study comparing the computational performance (accuracy and speed) of DSSAT-CSM between three compilers (Intel Fortran, g95, and gfortran) on several versions of both Windows and Linux operating systems. The paper may provide some useful insights for those who wish to enhance the run speed of the model or who wish to implement the model on Linux operating systems.
