We will be discontinuing the USGS Newsroom
email LISTSERV (an older distribution-type service) on Sept 1, 2012.
Instead, we are offering a quicker, more effective approach that will
ensure you continue to receive USGS News in a timely manner.
The new system allows you to choose the method you prefer, either an
email notice or an RSS feed (Really Simple Syndication).
*To continue receiving USGS news, you will need to go
to****usgs.gov/getournews* <http://usgs.gov/getournews>*before Sept 1,
2012, *and select the lists you wish to subscribe to. After Sept. 1,
2012 if you have not signed up for an email distribution list or
subscribed to an RSS feed, you will no longer automatically receive USGS
news. If you do not wish to use our RSS feeds, or sign-up with your
email, you can still read all USGS news release by visiting
usgs.gov/newsroom <http://usgs.gov/newsroom>at your convenience.
These are the categories of news that you can subscribe to.
