  I hope this letter finds you in good health and spirits. I would like to apologize for sending this message to all of you

  I am Miss Nome SAKANE, a young scientist woman from Burkina Faso. I am a research assistant at the department of agronomy at the sahel station of the Africa Rice Centre (WARDA), based in Saint-Louis, Senegal.

  I moved to Warda once year ago. Since then, I work jointly with Michiel De Vries on crop modeling and simulation using the Decision Support System for Agrotechnology Transfer (DSSAT) package. We have already run the model with observed data collected form the trials on farm. I do like working with this software.

  I learnt that an advanced training workshop will be organized jointly by the Project 5 of the Challenge Program on Water for Food (ICRISAT), and the African Soil Biology and fertility Network (TSBF). It will be presented by the International consortium for Agricultural Systems Applications (ICASA). The workshop will be held in Mombassa, Kenya from May 28th to June 2nd. The approximate cost is estimated to 2,500.00USD. This amount will cover the air ticket (1,500.00USD) and the accommodations and food fees for 1,000.USD.

  I am writing to seek for travel funding. I would like to attend this workshop but I do not have any funding support. Likewise, I would appreciate any assistance from you or any useful recommended address from where I could probably apply for travel grant.
