Hi Anne,
I'd be interested in the responses you get to this question, if you wouldn't
mind passing them along.
Hope all is well with you. Will you be at the WAML meeting in Flagstaff?

A researcher needs national boundaries in GIS format (global geographic
scope) for each year 1960-present. This is related to a study of
globalization over time and the relation of land area to other factors.
I can find digital national boundaries that are current and perhaps from the
mid-late 1990s. Has anyone been successful in obtaining historical
shapefiles for national boundaries, whether from public or private sources?
Thank you in advance for any leads.
Anne
