Joel - that's a good reason to perhaps make the FB page a chat-only,
socializing version of MAPS-L. As I said before, my intention was not to
supplant the email list, but to make it accessible to people who don't
use email lists and are already FB-ready. Absolutely not to twist any
arms into joining FB, really.

Just for the record, a good part of the issue is not what you notice or
what may interest you, i.e. just the visual advertising. It is what is
being gathered about you and your "friends" behind the scenes. Why do
you think the company has such a high monetary valuation, or is
expected
to be a blockbuster IPO?
