You all should have received a link via e-mail from GCASE regarding
Georgia Graduation Testing Rules. As you may or may not know, what was
initally planned (for all students to have a CTAE pathway) is no longer
the case. You may want to go to the Georgia Department of Education
website and read the current revision for yourself. Anyhow - in this e-
mail, there is a link for you to follow and complete a survey. The survey
is short. Questions 2, 3, and 5 offer room for you to write a response.
Please read my response below - I copied and pasted the same response in
all areas. I feel that Georgia Ag. Ed. worked too hard on developing the
curriculum pathways and that this work is being thrown to the side now.
You all know that power exists in numbers. I would encourage each of you
to complete this survey in regard to the new graduation rules and
comment. Feel free to copy and paste the same response I did, if you
agree with my statements. Thanks!

My response:

CTAE and/or Modern Language/Latin and/or Fine Arts (3 units required) -
this does not prepare the student in one specific area. Further more,
CTAE professionals have already developed pathways, preparing for students
who will be completing them. Much work and preparation has went into this
and is being thrown to the side. The three units required should be in
ONE area - either 3 units of the same CTAE area, or 3 units of Modern
Language/Latin, or 3 units of Fine Arts.
