Congratulations to Heather Savelle and Ross Wyatt - National
Winners of $1000 Merial Grants.

Winners were announced last week by the National FFA Foundation
of the 16 winners nation wide for the $1000 Merial Grants to improve
and expand Animal Science SAE's . The grants were sponsored by
Merial , the world's largest animal health company which recently
moved their World headquarters to Atlanta . Georgia was fortunate
to have two of the National winners. Congraluations to Heather
Savelle of the Oconee County FFA chapter and her advisors Sidney
Bell, Janet Allen and Stan Mitchell . Heather plans to use the money
to purchase dairy heifers, breed them AI and sell them as heavy
springers.

Congraluations also to Ross Wyatt of the Gordon Central FFA
Chapter and his advisors Farrah Burgess and Greg Gilman. Ross
plans to use the money to start a purebred Limousin herd.

Both Heather and Ross are ninth graders . There were 353
applications nation wide, and nine from Georgia. Having two National
Winners out of 353 applicants is indeed an honor for these students.

If you didn't submit any applications this year plan to do so next year.
The application is extremely easy to complete compared to most
awards applications .
