Help the Environment -- and GEC

Do your part to protect the environment during Earth Day celebrations –
April 16 - 23 – by dropping off old, spent lead acid batteries during The
AAA Great Battery Roundup 2005 at participating NAPA Auto Parts Stores
during normal business hours. Or take them to a AAA Auto Club South
location in Georgia at selected times (see schedule below). While you’re
there, have your battery, alternator and charging system tested for free by
AAA Mobile Battery Service. Your batteries will be recycled, keeping one
gallon of sulfuric acid, 3 lbs of plastic and 18 lbs of highly poisonous
lead out of our streams, lakes and earth. You’ll be supporting the Georgia
Environmental Council, as well. For each lead acid battery turned in
during The AAA Great Battery Roundup 2005, we’ll receive $1.50, supporting
programs that enable the state’s environmental and conservation
organizations to do their work more effectively.

AAA Auto Club South locations: April 9, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.: Atlanta/Marietta
– Wal-Mart, 1785 Cobb Pkwy S. April 19, 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.: AAA Macon,
175-E Tom Hill Sr. Blvd. April 20, 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.: AAA Augusta, 3601
Walton Way Extension. April 20, 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.: AAA Savannah, 712 Mall
Blvd.

This is the second year AAA Auto Club South has selected the Georgia
Environmental Council to receive these donations. Talk it up!
