Teachers, below is the list of the teachers who have registered for
the Tree ID workshop on June 17.  Please double check the list below
and let me know if you were left off or if we need to add you.   The
details are below also.

Subject: Leaf Collection and Dendrology workshop

 A hands-on workshop will be held on Tuesday, June 17 in Jefferson
(Jackson County) for students and teachers who would like to get a
head start on preparing a blue ribbon leaf collection notebook for the
Georgia National Fair and for training a team for the Tree ID
competition at the fair.   Leaf samples from all the Forestry Tree ID
list and the Junior Natural Resources Tree ID list will be available.
Master dendrologist Mr. Bill Lott and Mr. Jimmy Mock will be on hand
to discuss each specimen.   Instruction will be provided on the best
ways to press and preserve your specimen as well as the best ways to
display your collection in a leaf id notebook.  Tips on how to have
the grand champion tree id notebook will be given.  Tips on teaching
tree id and how to train a winning team will also be provided.

Lunch will be provide.  The cost of the meal will be $5 per person.
The workshop will be held at the Jefferson City Ag. Center north of
Athens.  The workshop will start at 10:00 am and finish by 3 pm.

You and your students might want to bring:
leaf press, or newspaper to press your collection
video camera
digital camera
clip board, paper and pencils for taking of notes
any tree id books you have
