Congratulations to the many FFA teams which recently dominated the Regional
Envirothon competitions. They brought home over $2,500 in plaques and
awards. Twenty-two FFA teams competed against 34 science and 4-H teams.
FFA teams won top honors in all four Regional Envirothon competitions. Ten
out of the top 16 teams that will advance to the State Envirothon
competition will be FFA teams. The following teams will advance to the
State Envirothon on May 2 and 3 on Jekyll Island.
The South Envirothon was held at Little Ocmulgee State Park.
The top four teams were:
1st - Clinch County FFA, also first place in Ag. Protection, Soils and
Water.
2nd - Perry Science Team
3rd - Ware Magnet FFA, also first place Forestry and Wildlife
4th - Portal FFA
Congratulations to the top four winning Envirothon teams at the East
Central Region. It was held at A.H. Stephens State Park in
Crawfordville.
1st place - Putnam County FFA, also first in Ag. Land Conservation and
Preservation and Forestry
2nd place - Oconee County Team FFA #1, also first in Water and Wildlife.
3rd place - Evans High FFA, also first in Soils.
4th place - Jackson County FFA
Congratulations to the top four teams at the West Central
Regional Envirothon held at the Newman Wetland Center in Clayton County.
1st place - Eagles Landing FFA Team #2, also high team winner in Forestry,
Water and Wildlife.
2nd place - Lakeside Environmental Education Club, also first place in
Soils.
3rd place - Rockdale 4-H, also first place in Ag. Land Conservation and
Preservation.
4th place - Eagles Landing FFA Team #1
Congratulations to the top four teams at the North Envirothon which was
held in Dawsonville.
1st place - Stephens Co. FFA, also first in Forestry and Water.
2nd place - Rabun Gap Nacoochee School Science Team, also first in Wildlife
and Water.
3rd place - Rabun Gap N. S. Team #2 Science Team
4th place - Stephens Co. FFA Team #2
Congratulations again to these 16 teams that will advance to the enjoy a
weekend on the beach while they compete for the State Envirothon title.
The winning state team will receive an all expense paid trip for the team
and teacher to the National Envirothon this summer in Maryland.
