Advanced Landscape Design GV03101
June 11-14th

Follow up course to basic landscape design workshop. In this course
teachers will advance their technical and cognitive skills using principles
and practices of landscape design in graphic arts, computer programs and
resources. Teachers who participate should have attended the basic
landscape design course or have accomplished skills in drafting.

Pesticide Recertification GV03102

Course is design to provide teachers with updated technical training in the
identification and management of plant pest. Participants will also
receive 5 hours of Georgia Department of Agriculture pesticide
recertification credit to be applied toward recertification for those

Conversational Spanish for Agriculture Teachers GV03105

The face of horticulture and agriculture is changing. Time for all
educators to learn about the Hispanic culture and community. This course
will introduce the teacher to communication skills by providing a basic
understanding of the culture and language, pronunciation, second language
acquisition strategies and teaching strategies for second language
learners. Purpose of course is to address the need of diversity education
by introducing the teachers to basic skills and providing resources for

Turfgrass Management

Here is a way to study at home to master up-to-date turfgrass management
practices and procedures and understand the principles of warm and cool
season turfgrass establishment, growth, maintenance and trouble shooting.
This staff development opportunity is an independent study course offered
by the University of Georgia and the Professional Lawn Care Association of
America. An easy-to read, illustrated study guide leads you through the
course and also provides timely information on special concerns like
pesticide safety and integrated pest management. One hour of college
credit in addition to Turfgrass Professional Certification is available

Georgia Green Industry Update GV03100

Propagation School GV03130

This is a demonstration-based, hands-on training using live plant material.
Instruction will include: Methods & Techniques of Plant Propagation, Basic
Physiology of Cuttings, Propagation Media, Rooting Hormones, Propagation of
Annuals, Perennial, Foliage Plants, Herbs and Woody Ornamentals.
Participants will be able to take the cuttings to home school and grow them
out, will be provide a propagation manual and the Georgia Commercial Flower
Growers Certification Study Manual. Opportunity to meet and work side by
side with growers from across the state of Georgia.
