*Environmental Modeling Scientist - St. Louis-009FY*

*Description*

Monsanto Global Corn Breeding group is seeking a highly motivated
individual with the ability to work as a member of Global Environmental
Modeling Team.  The candidate will work to improve our ability to
develop and deploy superior commercial corn products by improving the
understanding of testing environments, GxE, and the within-field
variability and developing tools that enable the organization to exploit
this knowledge systematically.

*Primary responsibilities* are to

·design and optimize global yield testing network

·quantify global yield testing environments

·determine the environmental collection among testing sites/regions
across the globe

·apply GIS, remote sensing, spatial statistics to global yield testing

The candidate will also establish and maintain appropriate linkages with
other teams and in specific the Global Corn Breeding Organization.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

Qualifications

*Required Skills/Experience:*

·PhD in soil science, environment science, crop science, agronomy or
related sciences

·Strong background in soil science, environment modeling, crop modeling,
GIS/remote sensing applications, and applied statistics

·Knowledge of G-by-E and computer programming would be an advantage

·Results oriented, innovative, and capable to thrive in a team-based
work environment

·Write and speak English fluently, and have excellent communication and
interpersonal skill

·Post-doctoral or applicable industrial experience is desired.
