hi All;
I can't remember if I've seen this listed here, so in case it was, I
apologize in advance. Regular users will have noticed this probably, but
many may have not seen the upcoming change. At present, you can go to
Geodata still, and may wish to until all has been moved over and made
available (See their FAQ:
http://gos2qp.geodata.gov/QuickPlace/whatsnew22/Main.nsf/h_Toc/7FF8462F91E2D6E488257906007D1C1D/?OpenDocument).
Here is the announcement on the website:
Geodata.gov is Moving to Data.gov
We are happy to report that Geospatial One-Stop (GOS,
http://www.geodata.gov) is moving to Data.gov <http://www.data.gov>
(http://www.data.gov/) as of September 30, 2011. At that time all users
will be redirected to data.gov to search for geospatial data.
This starts another exciting new chapter in Open Government, and the
evolution to make government data more accessible and usable than before.
This move is just the initial step in a series of efforts over the
upcoming year that will bring more geospatial capabilities to Data.gov.
Starting on Monday, September 12, 2011, no new content will be accepted
into geodata.gov for a period of approximately one month to allow backup
and transfer of the content to Data.gov. We will be providing more
details about the move and integration into Data.gov over the next
several weeks. Additional details are provided under the "FAQ" tab above.
