Hey Everybirdy,

Just thought I'd pass this along for anyone interested. This is a posting
from (Metro Birding Briefs) that I could not forward to the list, had to cut
and paste.
************************************************************************
There were TWO juvenal-plumaged Buff-breasted Sandpipers feeding in the
grassy swale between the bathhouse and the beach at Jones Beach west end 2
today, between 11:30 and 1:00. They were feeding close together for a while
before splitting up, after which I lost track of one. Several Least
Sandpipers were also present.

Between 10:30 and 11:00 the island off the Coast Guard station had a nice
assemblage of shorebirds, though neither the Whimbrel nor Marbled Godwit
recently reported was present. 12 Red Knot were the most notable birds.

I could not relocate a Sora reported yesterday from the Marine Nature Study
Area in Oceanside. The tide was out, not the best time for rail spotting.
It could very well still be there
