Plans are being made now to hold the Satilla Classic
Pig Sale on June 19, at the Brantlay County High FFA
Show Barn. The high school is located 3 miles West of
Nahunta on Highway 82. The sift will be conducted at
5:00 by Jimmy Mock. The sale will begin at 7:30pm.

Several breeders are pooling their top purebred and
crossbred breeding gilts and a few market hogs to
offer the public a chance to obtain high quality show
pigs for the fall show season. Most Litters are a
result of AI to top boars. The complete list of
breeders has not been compiled, therefore, a total
number of pigs has not been established.

There will definitely be several litters of Hampshires
and Yorkshires. It is hoped that there will also be a
couple of litters of Durocs, 1 litter of Chester
Whites, and 1 litter of Landrace. Hopefully, 40-50 top
quality pigs will be offered for sale.

Last fall, these same breeders were responsible for
producing the Grand Champion Hampshire, Reserve
Champion Hampshire and Reserve Champion Yorkshire at
the Georgia National Fair. A host of other champions
were named in Southeast Georgia fairs. Market pigs
from our November sale proved quite successful in
local as-well-as the state market hog shows.
