Dear Michael,

Generally speaking, amounts of water losses such as evaporation or water
supplies such as irrigation are reported in depth units such as mm. To
convert that depth unit into volume ones needs to multiply it by the area of
the farm or the plot. Assuming the accumulated irrigation amount is 348 mm
(0.348 m) the volume of water will be 0.348*10,000 m2 = 3480 cubic meter for
a 1-hectare size farm however the volume of water will be 0.348*10 m2 = 3.48
cubic meter for a 10-m2 plot.
