Position: Scientific Programmer

The South African Sugar Association Experiment Station situated in
Mount Edgecombe, near Durban, has a vacancy for a programmer in the
Agronomy Department. SASEX conducts agricultural research to ensure the
economic viability of the sugar industry.  The Agronomy Department
conducts field and systems research to promote efficient and
environmentally sound sugarcane production.

Reporting to the systems modeller, the programmer will work with
specialists and end-users to develop, maintain and apply computer
systems to support sugarcane agronomy research and management.

The successful candidate will ideally have a B.Sc. and experience in
programming and data processing in various environments. Good
communication skills are important.

The remuneration package is competitive and includes an annual bonus,
medical benefits and retirement funding.
