Environmental Scientist/Agricultural Engineer Postdoctoral Position. The Environmental Quality Laboratory of the USDA-Agricultural Research Service has a headquarters-funded postdoctoral position to join a multidisciplinary team to develop water quality risk assessment tools for real world pollution challenges. Research will explore hydrologic and other transport processes coupled with GIS principles in field and watershed scale models and will be conducted in concert with University of Maryland, other ARS locations, and several USDA action agencies including NRCS and ORACBA (Office of Risk Assessment and Cost Benefit Analysis). Some knowledge of GIS and computer programming is highly desirable, but experience in risk assessment work is not necessary. Candidates must have completed all of the requirements for the Ph.D. prior to entrance on duty. Preference is given to candidates whose degree has been received within the last 4 years and those who have demonstrated team skills. Only U.S. citizens will be considered. Salary is commensurate with experience (GS-11/12; starting salary $46,469).
