Subject: trends in academic GIS libraries?

Hi, Folks,
I’m an MLIS student interested in learning more about what issues are
trending with academic libraries in the area of geospatial services and
I’d like to hear from the group. Here are some questions that have come
to mind that I’d love to hear more on:
·How are you doing outreach to non-GIS users?
·How does geospatial literacy figure into your outreach efforts?
·How are you teaching geospatial literacy?
·Any issues with GIS library/lab staffing?
·Are you doing any kind of collaboration with other departments?
·Any issues for you in access and preservation (I’m thinking datasets,
here)?
I’d like to hear anything and everything you want to share. Feel free to
send me a note offlist at [log in to unmask] <mailto:[log in to unmask]>. If
folks are interested, I’d be happy to repost for everybody a synopsis of
what you’ve shared.
I know you’re all busy people -- thanks in advance!
