Hi

Yesterday, I visited the El Yali estuary, a Ramsar area on the Pacific coast, about 33,5° south.

I found 3 very intersting sandpipers for Chile, but I need your help to be absolutly sure for the identification !

2 of them very Semipalmated Sandpiper, and 1 is a supposed Western Sandpiper.
It would be, if confirm, the first documented record of Western S. for Chile (and the southern in the world), and perhaps the southern record of Semipalmated S. in the world.

If you have any experience with these two species, and if you want to help me identifying these birds, I will be very pleased to send you the pictures (If I remember well, it's not possible to send attached document in this forum).

Other shorebirds seen yesterday :

Collared Plover (10)
Snowy PLover (3)
Two-banded Plover (30)
Rufous-chested Plover (50+)
Greater Yellowlegs (30+)
Lesser Yellowlegs (15+)
Hudsonian Godwit (5)
Ruddy Turnstone (1)
Baird's Sandpiper (250+)

all my best,
Fabrice Schmitt
