Tokyo Bay, Japan, 17 December 2006

We looked at two sites in Tokyo Bay today, Kasairinkaikoen and Funabashi
Keihin Koen (against the tides, unfortunately). Variety of species was very
poor, but numbers were good, especially the Sanderlings:

Kasairinkaikoen: Dunlin (100), Rufous-necked Stint (3), Little Ringed
Plover (2), Common Sandpiper (3)

Funabashi Keihin Koen: Dunlin (500), Sanderling (50), Grey Plover (30),
Common Sandpiper (2), Eurasian Oystercatcher (uncertain numbers: we usually
winter a flock of 50-70, but they were roosting on the far side of a sandbar
today).
