In the first post I have from you, the first sentence reads:

"I'm wondering if Baker et al. (see below) have backed off their silly

extinction by 2010 claim for rufa Red Knot yet? "


Yes, words are important.  This sentence suggests that you are criticizing the scientists.  This is the reason why I responded.  Now you have clarified your argument to state that the conservation organizations are at fault.  And you have extensively quoted one of those scientists who apparently made the "silly" claim.
