Hello Modelers and Model Users:

Our laboratory's IT-specialist has been asked by people higher up in
USDA-ARS to filter-out (destroy without delivering) any e-mails that have
attachments that might harbor excutables with viruses. We will no longer
be receive ANY mail with *.exe, *.com or *.scr attachments. Due to the
volume of virus-carrying messages, our local e-mail server will not be
advising us which messages were filtered nor advising the sender.

At the moment, the USDA policy appears to be a "recommendation" not a
requirement, but I imagine most ARS labs will adopt similar e-mail
filtering.

I would suggest as a general practice for modelers that attachments be
sent either zipped or with the extension renamed (e.g., to "exx").

Best regards,
Jeff White
