I will be giving a presentation in April to our state library association
and was hoping to provide a short summary of what is going on with the
future of depository maps. There has been a lot of discussion lately about
the GPO ceasing to print documents, but I'm wondering if anyone has any
ideas as to what will happen with maps. Is there an established date that
USGS plans to stop production? Will the National Map and the Map on Demand
programs be the only alternatives to current print sources?
I'm sure this will be discussed at the CUAC conference in May.
Any information would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Travis
