Dear Colleagues,
those of you are using SIERRA for cataloguing please enlight me in the
following:
what policy do you follow in cataloguing books which embed map/s because:
a. if I choose : template for Monography, Bibl Level:Monograph and
Material Type: e Print Map there's a Map Icon on OPAC which is not
really correct since we describe the book and not the map actually.
b. if I choose:template for Monography, BibLevel: Monograph and Material
Type: Printed Text then there's a Book icon on OPAC which means that the
cartographic information is not visible at a glance
Is there any option in the system, can we customize it so to give the
information of a book that sustains geographical information (just like
we do in Reference Material or Dissertations?).
In Material Type there is only e, f and t.
If we choose e there is a Map icon in OPAC, if we choose f or t again
the Map icon will be in the OPAC.
Thank you in advance
