Yes, computer display technology is way beyond 8-bit imagery. But this
map by Brett Camper, first of a potential series, demonstrates an
interesting viewpoint that an old technology can give us. There is a lot
of detail for such a limited imagery. A sketchy style can show the
forest without letting the trees get in the way, you might say. Or in
the case of New York, can show the city without the urban density
obscuring the view.
