The Northwest Government Information Network (NGIN) had a spring meeting
earlier this year featuring Lori Robare from the University of Oregon
who showed us how to catalog using RDA. She included on her power point
presentation a couple of examples for maps.

Also, the Western Association of Map Libraries (WAML) has a Map
Librarians' Toolbox that you might find helpful as well.

ALA's Map & Geospatial Information Round Table (MAGIRT) has publications
and resources available too.

I hope you find these resources helpful.

Hello – I am writing to ask if you can suggest map cataloging training
opportunities. I have looked at the LC, OCLC, and LYRASIS sites, and
generally searched the web, and I’m not finding much. I have found this
Map Catalogers’ Tool Box
(http://www.acsu.buffalo.edu/~dbertuca/maps/cat/map-cat-toolbox.html#web),
which looks very helpful, but I want to ask active map catalogers for
advice, because I surely could be missing something.
Many thanks!
Renee McBride
