A final reminder that we will hold our Twelfth ICASA Open Forum on Crop
Modeling and Decision Support Systems at the ASA-CSSA-SSSA meetings in
Houston, TX.

Date/time: Monday, 6 Oct. 2008, 7:30-9:00 PM

Location: Room 213, George R Brown Convention Center

The draft agenda may be viewed at:

Among other news, Jim Jones and I will report on the iPlant workshop
(1-3 Oct) which deals with quantitative prediction of phenotypes from
genotypes, environment and management (the GEM to P problem). I believe
this will be the first US meeting with substantial representation of
people from plant genomics, bioinformatics, computer sciences and
ecophysiological modeling. The workshop is intended to set the stage for
a broad collaboration to develop the next generation of
"cyberinfrastructure" (terminology of the US National Science
Foundation), which we hope includes a significant role for
ecophysiological modeling.

Best regards,

Jeff
