Dear Nasir,

Instead of taking average of the whole period, you can prepare historical
indices, e.g calculate the effect of adverse weather on the crop for last
thirty years (1979 - 2009) . so that you'll get historical trend of
weather volatility over particular crop.

Consequently you can make your decision based on positive/ negative trend.

Hi,
I want to use DSSAT v4.0.2.0 (which  I have just ordered) to assess the
impact of temperature, precipitation, and radiation on cereal crops yield
under climate change condition across Nigeria.

Please I would like you to help me with information regarding the weather
and soil data that I may require.
I plan to use observed data for the period 1979-2009. Am I going to take
the average for the whole period, and how am I going to create the data
files?
