Dear Jans
Thanks for your help. I have now been able to solve the problem.

The file UFBR950001 did exist as it was but was half filled with black
shades. It was once again free from the damages after I cleared some of
the soil files which I recently created. I have no idea why it doesnot
like those recent files I created.

Regards,
Tesfalidet,

Dear Ghebreab,

the program is looking for the soil data of the experiment in the
DSSAT\Soil\SOIL.SOL file. If it can t find them there, it looks for
a
"UF.SOL" file. Since you are trying to run a default experiment there
should be no problems unless there are changes in the UFBR9101.TMX or
the
SOIL.SOL files. Sometimes problems occur after editing the files with
windows editors. Check the files; if that does not help you can create
a
UF.SOL file with the soil data of the FILEX (in this case it is
"UFBR950001").

Hope that helps.
Jans
