Subject: Subject classification for aerial photographs

I admit to some confusion in terms of appropriate use of the .A3, .A4,
and .A43 subject-letter numbers in the G schedule, especially as related
to corresponding LCSH.
Which A number is preferred in the call number for a set of aerial
photographs? Are they be seen as “views” (.A3), “maps” (.A4), or
“images” (.A43)?
Which LCSH are best for air photos?
I lean towards .A43, but I need substantiation. Again, what thoughts or
recommendations can you share?
Thanks,
Harry O. Davis
