This list has been quite quiet recently so I thought I would post a
message now that shorebird migration is underway in the northern
hemisphere.   Hopefully it will stimulate some posts regarding the
birds that are starting to head north.

First, some migration news.  Wilson's Snipe have started migrating
through SW Ohio.  Last Sunday I found 51 in small park located on the
floodplain of the Little Miami River and few miles from downtown
Cincinnati, Ohio.  I few days later I could find none so I am assuming
they quickly moved on.   There have also been scattered reports of
yellowlegs and pecs from around Ohio.

Second, I wanted to draw some attention to my website which has over
1000 shorebird photos.  The address is as follows.

As defined by Clements 2000 there are photos of 71 out of 89
"Sandpipers and Allies" and 54 out of 66 "Plovers and Lapwings".
There is also pretty good coverage for some of the other familes that
are considered shorebird or waders (oystercatchers, etc).  I would
like to try and fill in some of the missing species and was wondering
if anyone on the list might by able to help.  I can provide a list of
species that do not have coverage although I can warn in advance that
most of the missing "Sandpipers and Allies" are snipes. ;)  For the
species that are covered there is a lot of variance in the amount of
coverage.  For example, there are 39 Least Sandpiper photos while
there is only 1 Rock Sandpiper photo.
